Emma Heesters - "Alles Wordt Beter" (XDR Remaster 2025)

"Everything gets better". Kind of badly translated but that's pretty much what this song is about. Call me an old sentimental fool but I can't hold my tears back when I hear this!

Laura Pausini - "Live in Paris 05" (XDR Remaster 2025)

*My personal favorite pop song of all time, the most precious little song I've ever heard, (and that always tears me up inside in a most beautiful way...) "E Ritorno Da Te" is played on this show. EXPERIENCE IT HERE

E Ritorno Da Te (English Translation)

I return to you

So I return to you in spite of my pride.
I return because there isn’t another choice,
evoking those days in a different latitude
frequenting the places where I’d see you,
playing gestures and words I have lost.
And I return to you from the silence I have inside.

Tell me if there is still another chance
for me, another thrill,
if you’re still you
even more, another fresh and new song.
Tell me if something of us is still left now inside your eyes.

Oh no… your eyes

So I return to you because I still want you
and I return to you against the wind that blows,
I return because I need you,

I need to breathe, out of this anxiety
and to find again strong hands on me
and not to feel always so frail.

Tell me if there is still another chance
for me, another thrill,
if you’re still you
even more, our song that resounds
Tell me if something of us is still left now inside your eyes,
oh no…

If you’re still you,
a fresh and new song.
Tell me if something of us is still left now inside your eyes
Oh no… your eyes

Just tell me if it's left, and I will return to you.

Lana Del Rey - "Ride" (Long Form Music Video) (Cinematic XDR Remaster 2025)

©2012 Polydor/Interscope

℗2025 Hipper Than Hell Records

"Ride" is a song by American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey from her third extended play (EP), Paradise (2012). The song was written by Lana Del Rey and Justin Parker, while produced by Rick Rubin, the song served as the reissue's first single on September 25, 2012 through Interscope Records. "Ride" is a soulful ballad that thematically involves parental problems, alcohol consumption, and loneliness. The cover for the song depicts Del Rey on a tire swing, wearing cowboy boots and a denim jacket.

"Ride" is also a 2012 American short music film directed by Anthony Mandler. The film stars Lana Del Rey as Artist, a prostitute who leaves her opulent family and joins a biker gang on the open road. The film was also written by Del Rey, and is based on her song of the same name, from her extended play (EP) Paradise (2012). The film's supporting cast includes Ian Seeberg, Scott Marlatt, and Kevin Peterson as Artist's lovers, and Josh Kurlups, Brian Harlow, Shawn Donohue, Steve Buchanan, Will Thomas, and Del Rey's brother, Charlie Grant as members of a biker gang. Lasting a duration of over 10 minutes, the film serves as its title song's music video. Aside from featuring the song itself, the film also features "confessional monologues" spoken by Del Rey.

"Ride" premiered at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica, California on October 10, 2012. Two days later it was released onto the online video platform VEVO. It was distributed by Black Hand Cinema. The film's reception was mixed to positive, with critics complimenting Del Rey's acting, but generating controversy due to the film's portrayal of prostitution, adultery, gun violence, and cultural appropriation.

"Ride" received critical acclaim from music critics, who compared Del Rey's vocals with that of Adele and Brandon Flowers of the Killers. While only a modest hit in the United States, Switzerland, Ireland, and France, the song reached the top 10 in Russia. The accompanying music video for "Ride" was directed by Anthony Mandler, and was released on October 12, 2012. Del Rey's role in the video was compared to "Lolita" and "A Streetcar Named Desire". The monologue treatment at the start and end of the video met polarized opinion; some considered it "meaningless" and a "gibe to her critics", while others called it "moving".

  • Black Cat
  • Miss You Much
  • The Knowledge
  • Rhythm Nation
"Rhythm Nation 1814" is a 1989 American musical short film based on Janet Jackson's fourth studio album of the same name. Directed by Dominic Sena, the film notably includes the music video for "Rhythm Nation", as well as the videos for "Miss You Much" and "The Knowledge". It was filmed at a power plant located in Pasadena, California. The video is notable for its "post-apocalyptic" warehouse setting, the unisex black military-style uniforms in which Jackson and her dancers were outfitted, and its choreography, considered to "set the template for hundreds of videos to come in the Nineties and aughts". The film premiered on MTV on September 16, 1989, coinciding with the release of the album, and was also later released on VHS and LaserDisc by A&M Video. It won multiple accolades, including MTV's Video Vanguard Award for Jackson's impact on entertainment. Various actors and choreographers, including Wade Robson and Travis Payne, have cited Jackson and the "Rhythm Nation" routine as a primary influence to their careers. Entertainment Weekly considered the video "legendary", and Rolling Stone included it in a list of 10 Favorite Dancing Musicians, calling Jackson "a brilliant dancer”. The publication also titled it "the gold standard for dystopian dance pop music videos", featuring "some of the most memorable choreography in pop video history". The long-form video won a Grammy Award for Best Long Form Music Video in 1990. The home video release has been certified two-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipments of 200,000 units.

KISS - "Eddie Kramer Demo 1973" (Sonic Restoration 2025)

©1973 Eddie Kramer & KISS (I guess). Probably Universal Music Group.

℗2025 Hipper Than Hell Records

On 11. March, 1973, Kiss entered Electric Lady Studios, New York, with Eddie Kramer to record their first demo. The songs were “Deuce”, “Cold Gin”, “Strutter”, “Watchin’ You” and “Black Diamond”. The songs were the very first songs printed on a Kiss record on 30. April, 1973.

02 Cold Gin [00:03:25

03 Strutter [00:08:40

04 Watchin' You [00:13:38

Paul Stanley: “We put down pretty much who we were. It was like a musical manifesto. The demo is much rawer than the first album. In many ways I don’t think anything captured the magnitude of what we were doing just in terms of its sonic scope.” – “Nothin’ to lose: The making of KISS (1972-1975)” by Ken Sharp

Eddie Kramer: “The demo was done at Electric Lady. They had done an album as Wicked Lester and it wasn’t very good unfortunately and it went straight down the toilet. Gene and Paul were trying to figure out what to do next and they thought they’d be a heavy rock band. It was Gene and Paul’s concept. Their producer asked me if I’d do a demo as my scene was the Heavy Rock stuff so I said yes. I put them in Studio B and recorded a four-track demo with them and that ended up getting them their record deal. I thought it was brilliant. They were wonderful.” – Metal Express radio

Dave Wittman: “The first KISS demo was done on four-track, the same way that the Beatles did Sgt. Pepper. It was done pretty much live except for the vocals and solos. The demo was good—they were really tight.” – “Nothin’ to lose: The making of KISS (1972-1975)” by Ken Sharp

Eddie Kramer: “We recorded it in Studio B, which is a tiny studio. It’s a tribute to them as performers that even though they were fairly primitive musically in the beginning of their career they played in a fairly tight manner. KISS had obviously done their homework and rehearsed. We did it very quickly in a matter of a couple of days. Ace impressed me as a player. Right off the bat I could tell he was a pretty talented guitar player. Peter Criss’s enthusiasm was tremendous. Gene had the concept and Paul was the rock star singer. My game plan was to capture the spirit of the band. It’s like a time capsule in a way. You grab that moment when the energy is at its raw peak and try not to overembellish. You want to capture the vibe. And that’s the trick. I was very fortunate I was able to do that with KISS on that demo.” – “Nothin’ to lose: The making of KISS (1972-1975)” by Ken Sharp
